So I am new at this blogging stuff, but figured I would give it a try. Here we go applies to so much more than just the start of a new blog, it applies to so many aspects of my life right now. Today I am just going to focus on one of them.
I recently started school again. It has been 8 long years since the last time I cracked open a school book. I was very intimidated and I have been procrastinating starting for several years now. After all of the procrastination and the realization that if I had done this right after high school I would be done by now, I jumped in head first and applied. I quit letting my fears and insecurities win and just did it.
For some time I have been sticking with my decision to go in to a pharmacy technician program. First. Then after continue on to become a pharmacist. I enrolled in a shortened 10 month program with the National Certification option at the end. I was thinking, YES!! the faster the better. I failed to reflect on the fact that with a shorter program comes a shorter amount of time to learn all the same information as the longer programs.
The first class, not so bad cramming all that info in. Second class, BIG difference. I have realized there will be a price to pay for the benefit of finishing faster. A lot more studying in a lot less time. You may think, no biggie, it is well worth it. But sitting down today, on my first day of this new class, I realized just how big of a deal it was. Anatomy and physiology crammed in to a four day a week for four weeks is a lot.
I know that it is going to be beneficial for me to get done sooner, and with having to externships in this program I will be better prepared and trained. Right now it is seeming like a very long way to climb to get to the top of this mountain I have chosen to climb. Wish me luck!!
